Privacy Policy
Rev is built for car people, and part of that is respecting where you go and who you roll with. Here's what we collect, why, and the control you keep — in plain language.
This policy describes how the Rev app ("Rev," "we," "us") handles information. Questions? chad0maciel@gmail.com.
01 Information we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work. We do not buy personal data about you, and we do not run ads.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Account info | Email, username, display name, and avatar — to create and secure your account. Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. |
| Content you create | Posts, garage vehicles and mods, spotted cars, photos, and messages — shown only to the people you choose. |
| Location | To show meets near you, power live check-ins, and guide Cruise Mode. Precise location is used only while you use these features, and only if you allow it. |
| Device token | A push identifier, so we can send the alerts you turn on. |
| Basic diagnostics | Limited technical data to keep the app running and fix crashes. |
02 How we use it
- To run core features: the meet map, garage, cruises, spotting, feed, clubs, and messaging.
- To send notifications you enable — switch them off any time in Settings.
- To keep Rev safe: enforcing blocks, handling reports, preventing abuse.
- To operate Rev+ subscriptions (billing is handled by Apple — we never see your card).
We do not sell your personal information and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
03 Your controls
Private profiles & follower approval
Make your profile private so only approved followers see your cars, posts, and activity. No one follows you — or sees where you check in — without your say-so.
Location is optional
Decline location access and still use most of Rev. Change it any time in your device's Settings.
Notifications
Every notification type is opt-in and can be turned off in Settings.
04 Who we share it with
- Supabase — our hosting and database provider, storing your account and content on our behalf.
- Apple & Google — only if you choose them to sign in; Apple for push and Rev+ billing.
- Other Rev users — content is visible per the audience you choose (public, or approved followers if private).
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect people using Rev.
05 Data retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account and content any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing chad0maciel@gmail.com. We then remove your personal data from active systems, except limited records the law requires us to keep.
06 Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and access is enforced by database-level rules, so people see only what they're allowed to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
07 Children
Rev is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data and we'll remove it.
08 Changes
We may update this policy as Rev evolves. Material changes update the effective date above and, where appropriate, we'll notify you in the app.
